Maestros Roneros

A Maestro Ronero should know in detail the whole process of the preparation of rum, from cutting cane to bottling. Also, must possess innate and acquired skills to develop and taste rums.In Brugal, there is an added requirement: Maestros Roneros must be part of the family. ROAD SIGN PROGRAM

This initiative represents the commitment of Brugal and Company with its people. In the past, road signalization in the Dominican Republic was weak. In the early seventies Brugal wanted to improve this situation by placing road signs guiding to towns and tourist attractions of interest throughout the country. The initiative was so popular that the very towns and cities began to request Brugal signals. Today the demand is so great that there are more than 3,000 road signs around the island and Brugal has created a workshop production and maintenance of the signals.During the second half of the nineteenth century, Andrés Brugal Montaner, born in Sitges, Spain, immigrated to Cuba and later moved to the Dominican Republic where he established residence in Puerto Plata. With experience in the development of rum he had acquired in Cuba, he founded Brugal & Company. Thus began the industry of rum in the Dominican Republic and the saga of a long family tradition.

Origin

1920: Brugal rum created the dark rum segment. In an effort to improve the quality of its products, the company begins to age rum in white oak barrels. 1952: Brugal develops the aged rums segment with the launch of Brugal Añejo. 1976: The launch of Brugal Extra Viejo involves creating a new category of Premium Dominican Rums. 1988: When the company celebrates 100 years of production, Brugal launches its most Premium rum: Brugal Siglo de Oro. By then, it is a brand of an unsurpassed range of quality rums.

BRUGAL FOUNDATION

Brugal and Company has always made donations and provided financial assistance to needy individuals and organizations of our country.In 1991, Brugal Foundation was established in order to support initiatives that support development and help reducing poverty in the country. The Foundation has a strong commitment to education and particularly the children of employees of Brugal.
